What Is a Scout Class B Uniform?
“Class B” is the everyday name Scouts and parents use for the activity uniform: a Scouting t-shirt, usually your Troop’s own custom shirt, worn with Scout shorts or pants and socks. The official uniform shirt with patches is often called the “Class A.”
Troops wear Class B shirts when the full uniform isn’t practical: hikes, campouts, service projects, summer camp, and high adventure treks. They’re easy to wash and much less costly to replace than an official uniform shirt.
You may notice something familiar in the name. Over the years, many Scouts have started calling a Scout t-shirt a “ClassB shirt.” Thank you! We’re Scouters too, and we believe in the program.

Red
The Scouting red of the classic red jacket. A bold, easy-to-spot Troop color.
Tan
The closest t-shirt color to the tan Scout uniform shirt.
Olive
Pairs well with Scout pants and shorts for an outdoorsy look.
Navy
A classic that works with almost any design. It can look nearly black on screens.

Prairie Dust Double-check
Often picked as a khaki, but it’s grayer and greener than the tan uniform. Choose Tan if you want to match.
Cardinal Red Double-check
A deeper, berry-toned red. Pick Red if you want to match the classic Scouting red.

Guessing sizes is a minefield, so ask. Troops span ages 11 to 17 plus adult leaders, so expect youth and adult sizes. Scouts grow fast, so skip Youth Small.

Do more colors in our design cost more?
No. Unlimited colors, same price. A one-color design and a full-color design with gradients and photos cost exactly the same to print.
How many shirts does our Troop need to order?
Small Troops are welcome. The per-shirt price drops as your order grows, and you’ll see the exact price before you order. Need a few more later? Reorders of just one or two shirts are easy.
Can we add our Troop number and town?
Yes. Every design can be customized with your Troop number, town, year, or event name. Our artists will check it before you approve your proof.
Can our shirts use official Scouting logos?
Yes. ClassB is an Official Scouting America Licensee, so your Troop’s shirts can include official Scouting marks, which unlicensed printers aren’t permitted to use.
Do adult and larger sizes cost more?
No. There’s no extra charge for larger sizes. Youth and adult sizes cost the same, so Scouts, parents, and leaders all pay one price.
Can we order wicking shirts, hoodies, or long sleeves with the same design?
Yes. Mix garment styles with the same design, and your whole order counts toward the quantity price break.
What shirt colors do Troops choose?
Red, tan, olive, and navy are classic Scouting choices, with forest green and black close behind. Watch out for prairie dust and cardinal red, which are easy to mistake for khaki and Scouting red on a screen. See Choosing Shirt Colors above.

How long does it take to get our shirts?

Is design help really free?
Yes. Free design help is included with every order: customizing a design idea, adding your Troop details, and guidance on a basic design. Fully original, complex artwork may need extra design time, and we’ll always quote it first. Most Troop orders never get close to that.
